(Show Name) Casting (example: ATTN: Top Chef CASTING)
2202 S. Figueroa St.
Los Angeles, CA 90007
2.
When will you be casting again? Is there a certain time of year you
usually do your casting calls?
We are always Casting. Keep checking the latest casting calls for current
project.
3.
Is there an age limit? What if I'm 17 now, but will be 18 when a show
starts?
There is generally an rule that you need to be 18 to participate on
a show. The Casting Directors are pretty strict on this. If you are
17, as long as you are out of high school and will be 18 by the first
day of production (different for every show), you will be fine.
4.
What should be on my video?
You should make your video as personable as possible. We want to know
what makes you you. What makes you interesting? Start your tape with
your first name, age, and your hometown. Tell us about you...what you
do with your time, your hobbies, who the closest people to you are,
what your family is like and what your dreams and aspirations are. Most
importantly have fun!!
5.
What kinds of tapes can I send in?
We will usually accept every type of format except DIGITAL Hi-8. The
best types to watch you on are usually VHS, VHS-C, mini-DV, and DVD.
PLEASE clearly label your tape and case with your name, phone number,
email and which show you are applying for. For more information about
making an audition tape check out our TIPS page.
6.
If I'm not a U.S. Citizen can I still be considered for a show?
If you have a valid passport and can travel to the United States, then
yes.
7.
What are the different stages of the casting process?
The first step is attending an open call or sending in a video. We
may also select you from information you send in and we will call you
to set up an interview time. If you are chosen to advance, you’ll
get to fill out a long application (sometimes applications will be
available on the website beforehand). Then we will do some interviews,
and then even more interviews. Then we will bring a small group of
people to Los Angeles and interview you yet again. We will then come
to a final decision after all the interviews are done and notify the
lucky bunch that will be chosen for the cast!
8.
How will I know if I made it to the next round or got rejected?
The best thing to do is to go to an open call or send us a home tape
and make sure that we have the best possible ways to contact you. If
we want to get to know you better, we will give you a call.
9.
How do I find out if you received my tape?
Unfortunately, we cannot notify you that your tape got here. If you
addressed it properly, though, be assured we received it!

SUBMISSION TIPS
The following tips will help you put together a great home tape
for any of the shows we are casting.
Do NOT have the "Auto-Focus"
Feature On.
This can cause your image to be blurred. If we can't see you, we can't
choose you.
Do NOT shoot without proper lighting.
Make sure you have natural light..."the sun" or a lamp should
be aiming at you, not behind you.3. Do NOT have your date stamp on
when recording.
Make sure that you can't see the time and date in your viewfinder when
you are recording.
Do NOT sit or stand too far away from
the camera.
If possible set up the camera 4 feet away from you. No More, No Less.
Do NOT sit or stand too close to the camera.
We want to see your head and shoulders on your tape.
Do NOT cut off your head.
Frame your shot appropriately. Position yourself so that there is at
least a couple inches above your head and make sure that you are framed
no lower than your torso.
If you decide to put music in your tape...
Make sure either you are just dancing to it or using it in your intro.
Make sure that you are in a quiet place when you record. Don't have
music or a TV on in the background.
